    GAS CO2 SYNRAD

    Synrad'S Series 48

Synrad’s original “all-metal” tube technology opened the door for sealed CO2 lasers in many industrial applications. After 20 years, it remains the industry standard for performance, reliability, long lifetime and low cost.

The laser tube is a rigid box structure design that provides an ultra-stable platform for the laser resonator. Synrad’s 48-series tubes are mounted into an H-shaped heat sink extrusion that also serves as the chassis for the drive electronics. This guarantees that the laser will withstand the harsh requirements of modern industrial environments.

The all-metal sealed tube design and proprietary manufacturing process ensure high gas purity, essential for long operating lifetimes. With 100,000 Synrad lasers operating worldwide, Synrad is the only CO2 laser manufacturer that can boast of proven operating lifetimes in excess of 45,000 hours (at which time, a simple and inexpensive gas refill returns the laser to full operation).

Synrad lasers can be operated from 0-100% duty cycle, with laser power adjusted using a pulse width modulation (PWM) control. The laser is controlled directly with a TTL signal (rear-mounted BNC connector). Alternatively, a DB-9 connector provides remote access to all laser functions, including laser control, fault conditions monitoring, remote interlock, and failure shutdown options.

All 48-series lasers operate from standard 30VDC power supplies, and can be either fan-cooled (48-1 and 48-2 models), or water cooled. Synrad’s 48-series lasers are ideal for incorporation into marking, engraving, and small cutting systems, where performance, low price and high reliability are essential.

    Synrad'S Evolution Series

The long cavity length provides an inherent power and wavelength stability advantage over many of today’s CO2 laser solutions.

Synrad’s Evolution series, available in 100, 125, 200 and 240 watts, excel in such applications as “Kiss-Cutting” of multi-layer material, semiconductor wafer processing, and thin-film welding.

Evolution’s all-metal sealed tube design and proprietary manufacturing process ensures high gas purity, essential for long operating lifetimes and virtually maintenance free field performance.

Rugged enough to be mounted on robot arms or on moving gantry systems, Synrad’s Evolution series lasers are ideal for large area cutting systems or high-speed production lines.

    Synrad's firestar V-Series

For the firestar v-series, Synrad’s goal is to produce the highest quality low power CO2 lasers, in the most compact package possible.

Based on a waveguide design, Synrad’s v-series resonator technology guarantees a circular beam (typical M2 <1.1) in both the near field and far field. This near-perfect beam can be focused to the smallest achievable spot size, thereby creating the maximum possible power density on a work surface. This results in faster processing speeds and higher resolution for cutting or engraving applications.

The resonator design features a small diameter bore and high gas fill pressure for fast rise/fall times (typically 80-90 µsec), while the large gas ballast ensures the long operating lifetime expected of all Synrad lasers. Long-term power stability of better than ±3% is typical.

As with all Synrad lasers, the v-series can be operated from 0-100% duty-cycle, with laser power adjusted using a pulse width modulation (PWM) control. The v-series lasers operate from standard 30VDC power supplies, and can be either air-cooled or water-cooled.

Designed for ease-of-integration, all firestar lasers incorporated a unique 3-point mounting system, which provides a variety of mounting options. firestar v and t-series lasers share common beam exits, ensuring drop-in replaceability. Other features designed to make integration as simple as possible include:

    • Onboard tickle generator
    • Industry standard 5-24 VDC I/O ports
    • Remote control status via 15-pin D connector

Synrad’s firestar v-series comes in keyswitch and OEM configurations (OEM version shown in the photo above), and air-cooled models can be supplied with or without fans. The outstanding performance of these lasers, combined with their compact size and air-cooled operation, make them the ideal source for high-performance laser engravers and high speed marking systems.

    Synrad's firestar t-series

Maximum power and performance from an air-cooled CO2 laser is the drive behind our firestar t-series technology. Synrad’s firestar t-series lasers are built on technology using a patented hybrid-unstable resonator design.

This creates a compact laser with excellent beam quality that can be focused to the smallest achievable spot size, delivering the maximum possible power density on a work surface. The result is faster processing speeds, higher resolution and optimized quality for cutting, marking and engraving applications.

With its high performance RF circuitry designed specifically to match its compact resonator, firestar t-series lasers have typical rise times of better than 75µsec with outstanding square-wave performance.

When combined with excellent beam profile and mode quality numbers (M²) of <1.1±0.1, the t-series delivers high power, fast pulsing capabilities and optical quality ideally suited for applications where rapid scanning or pulsing of the laser beam is required.

Designed for ease-of-integration, all firestar t-series lasers incorporate a unique 3-point mounting system giving the user flexibility and ease of mounting into his system design. Synrad’s firestar v and t-series lasers also share common beam exits, ensuring virtual drop-in replaceablity. As with all Synrad lasers, the t-series can be operated from a 0-100% duty cycle, with laser power adjusted using a pulse width modulation (PWM) control.

All t-series lasers operate from separate RF power supplies, with three standard cable lengths available, providing the lightest mounting weights for the laser heads. Synrad t-series lasers are available in key switch or OEM configurations, and the air-cooled lasers can be supplied with or without fans (fan-cooled version shown above).

With a range of output powers to match the application, combined with the benefits and cost savings of air-cooled operation, Synrad’s firestar t-series lasers are the ideal choice for laser engravers, laser markers and high-speed laser coders.
