Excimer laser and TEA CO2 

          GSI Group Laser Division announced today (1 July 2008) that it has completed the sale of its Excimer laser and TEA CO2 laser product lines. This transfer highlights GSI Lasers' commitment to its JK™ Pulsed and CW lamp pumped solid state lasers and the newly introduced range of JK™ Fiber Lasers by allowing it to focus resources onto development and customer support of these products. New product introductions this year will further expand the range of applications addressed by the JK™ brand of lasers .

          The product lines transferred cover the INDEX, IPEX, PulseMaster, IMPACT and LaserMark brands, which will still be available from the new suppliers. For existing users of these lasers, service support has also been transferred, and GSI fully expects that its customers will be in good hands for the lifetime of the lasers.

          GSI Lasers will continue with gas laser products through its line of DC CO2 lasers, now being manufactured at its facility in Suzhou, PRC. These provide a high quality CW 10.6µm source which are used in many OEM flat bed cutting systems for applications from acrylic signage manufacture to dieboard production.
